Anyone used a steam cleaner at home?

Are those Shark type steam cleaners worth the money? The kind that clean grout and sanitize I mean. Are Shark products good? We’ve not had good luck with them.

which vapor steam cleaner is best for killing fleas?

Apparently no other product can kill fleas in some state of their development cycle, but steam can burst their shell. I am taking a heavy class load and have no time for this. I need something FAST, EASY, that gets steam to temps greater than 140 degrees (needed to kill fleas). I have hardwood floors so I want one that does not drench the floor. Since I have animals I would like the cleaning aspect as well…like if I am going to spend the money and have an appliance cluttering up, I would want it to be able to clean grout too. I am not expecting it to clean everything in my house, just floors. Carpets are a don’t care…I have throw rugs and throw them in the wash. I do not want to pre-mop or vacuum. I want one product to do it all. I am not very picky but it has to be hot to kill fleas and it has to do at least a fair job of cleaning so I don’t have to do it twice. I don’t want to spend over 0. And it should be light weight (or it won’t be easy). I don’t think I ‘d mind refilling it partway in order to keep the unit light. The right product might turn me from an indifferent housekeeper into a clean freak. Thanks for any help!
I bombed, it did no good. Only steam can kill fleas in all stages of growth. I guess I will premise spray to kill the adults, then steam to kill everything else.

Are the expensive home steam cleaners worth the cost?

We’re debating getting a new vacuum (hubby wants outrageously expensive Dyson) and maybe a steam cleaner like the Hoover All Terrain.

I don’t know if it wouldn’t just be better to hire Stanley Steamer a few times a year to do the job. I’m asking in Parenting because the whole reason we are needing all this for our carpets is our kids. I want to know how other parents with young children keep their floors clean.
Zorro, lol.
He’s got allergies and the pets and all are adding to it. He’s not one to complain so when he does I try to do something about it if i can. I just don’t know if spending 00 on carpet cleaning is the best way to use our money.

Best Way To Clean Carpets? (Wet Extraction or Dry Bonnet)?

I would like both professional cleaners and customer stand points on this. Which is the best way to clean carpets wet extraction "Steam" cleaning or dry bonnet type (Teri-Towel) type cleaning? I just can’t see how dry type systems can get the carpet as clean as wet extraction, but i may be wrong. What’s the pros and cons to both? I am looking at starting a carpet cleaning business and doing all the research i can before laying down the money.

Should I use my 1800 deposit as last months rent.?

I have been an ideal tenent using direct deposit and paying a week early every month for a year. I am about to move and my landlord dosent want me to go so he offered to lower my rent, but I found a place that will save me 475.00 a month. I feel he is going to keep my deposit out of bitterness. When I first moved in he refused to to a walkthrough with me because he was really busy. The back door doesnt lock on the slider, the carpets were filthy, the oven and dishwasher didnt work(which he asked me to buy and install and take off rent). So I requested in writing to use the security deposit towards last months rent and agree to an immeadete walkthrough as well as a final and he refused. I think he is gong to use the security towards all the things I mentioned (carpet and broken slider door). So Should I just keep last months rent and tell him to keep my deposit? I am leaving house sparkling and hiring steam cleaners.
what would you do?
i wanna thank etta and everyones comments, this is my first time renting i was a home owner then relocated for work. My deposit is same as rent and I want to use it for last 1 month rent not 2. I also just talked to him and requested a walkthrough then i would pay him last month rent not due for another week. He refused and said he will only do a final walk through, I am just uneasy and I need this money. I am scarred he is trying to use the previous problems and charge me for them. So i have pictures and recipts and everything. If he were to take me to court for last month rent what would I be out?

How can I get my fiance to help me out around the house?

I am 8 and a half months pregnant and my boyfriend and I just moved into a new house in a new state, I dont know anyone here and I stay at home all day while he goes to work. Mind you that his job is pretty relaxed. When he gets home all he wants to do is play video games and watch tv or go spend money on things for the house. My stress level is already through the roof and I can’t do all the things a not so pregnant person can. He gets mad if I ask for help around the house and says that he will help and never does. I’m stuck carrying vacuums and steam cleaners up and down the stairs and moving heavy boxes with his things in them and of course I do all the laundry, dishes and typical cleaning. I think it might end our relationship if things don’t change soon. I don’t want to fight with him anymore. I appreciate that he works and I don’t right now but I can only do so much, I mean I cant even stand for more than 10 minutes at a time anymore. I just need some help in getting him to help me or at least show some appreciation for what i do in my condition. And leaving the house a mess until he cleans it is not a option, i’m in full blown nesting mode. Any suggestions will help I just feel like im going crazy here carrying his baby and not getting taken care of or helped out.
In my defense, we’ve been together a really long time and tried for two moths to get pregnant and he was never like this until we moved here. He used to do just as much around the house as me if not more. So as crazy as it sounds, things actually did change over night

My Cat has quit using his litter box and it's not medical. What to do with him, and get it out of the carpet

He is a 8 year old Himalayan male who is nuetered, he got upset last summer when we brought our new daughter home. At first it was just occasional, to let us know he was mad, it continued, but now is to the point he won’t use the litter box at all. He has been to the vet, and checked out fine healthwise. He keeps going potty in her her room and we have tried everything to get it out of the carpet. My husband has reached his breaking point, and I don’t want to give my kitty up, but it is out of hand and very unhealthy. We keep her door closed when she isn’t in their, but then he goes and does his business by the washer and dryer or if he can in the clothes hamper. Any suggestions would be great, (especially how to get the smell out) We have tried carpet cleaners steam cleaners and the smell is still there. We haven’t changed the litter brand, and have tried relocating the litter box. Nothing works, he is costing us a lot of money, and problems Please Help

What Is legal with Landlord Situation?

A few months ago (almost 4 to be exact), we found out we had bed bugs. we’ve been battling this issue and keeping on the landlord about doing something about it. i understand that it’s something that’s brought into the building and we are living in a 2 flat apartment building. are neighbor that lived downstairs (just got evicted) told us that he’s had them for a while now and thought that they were ticks. he didn’t let the landlord know about it or us for that matter and now were getting them as well. so we established that it’s the neighbors who brought them in, his girlfriend was moving in and out of the apartment, about 3 times, with the kids (5) and the last time she moved about a month after we started getting bit. so i’m not sure how long we’ve had them. now the landlord wants to take care of the situation. he’s not going through pest control company though, he wants to vapor steam himself. we were fine with that, realizing that it’s tough with money right now and that this might be better then spraying pesticides in the apartment. we are trying to cooperate with him but now he wants us to take everything we own out of the building so they can steam and replace carpets. this is near impossible for us. my husband and brother whom also live here with me work for a living. i just got laid off and am busy looking for work and trying to keep us above water. we complied with his not wanting anything in the basement, we were using for storage and got a storage unit and took our stuff there. we also helped him clean up our neighbors part of the basement. now he wants us to get another storage unit for a month he says so that we can keep our stuff there until he’s done. besides that he wants us to keep everything out for a couple of days. how are we supposed to uproot everything and find places to stay for a couple of days and keep all our stuff in storage. his wife keeps insisting that it would be easier for us to just move. we can’t afford to live as it is but now they want us to some how come up with a security deposit, moving costs and other hassles of all this. is there some sort of law protecting us? this is completely ridicules. besides all this we have a mouse issue. we’ve been dealing with for at least 2 years now and we’ve been taking money out of our own pocket to pay for mouse traps and other things to minimize. what can we do? or is there anything i can site and say according to this you can’t expect us to uproot everything? i’m at my wits end and as soon as i do find a job, i’m going to work on saving for a deposit to move out of here.
for those who might ask, we aren’t going to get our security deposit back either way, the landlord is one of those slum lords and will find something to say we won’t get it back. and the reason we were using the basement for storage is because when we moved here, about 7 years ago he said we could utilize the back rooms for storage. i guess we missed it when we updated the lease that he took that part off. so it was on the lease originally and now is not. so it was allowed before.

Professional car detailing or do it yourself by renting steam cleaner from grocery store?

I’ve never had my car detailed. My carpet has gone though years of coffee spills and spot cleaning. I recently called a local detailer and found out they charge 9. I’m wondering if anyone has ever tried to detail themselves by renting the steam cleaners at the grocery store or if I should just pay the money for the detailing.
