What's the best way to clean stains on a sofa? I think its a micro fiber type sofa. thanks?

Can you use one of those carpet cleaners or do you need to use a steam cleaner if so how do you scrub the stain out of the fabric or does the steam just do it? Bought a used sofa that didn’t see all the stains on it until we got home.

Microfiber is actually very easy to clean. I would suggest calling a professional to clean it but if you must do it yourself and you have access to a rental cleaning unit or home cleaning unit with an upholstery attachment you can do it yourself. Get some mild detergent, joy works well, and mix a teaspoon of the detergent and a quart of water in a spray bottle. First test the material by spraying a hidden area with the solution and checking for dye loss with a clean white towel. If it passes, lightly mist the sofa with the solution and agitate it softly with a soft bristle brush. Now rinse the sofa with the upholstery machine making several additional drying passes. Wipe the sofa down with white terry cloth towels to remove more moisture and erase the marks left by the cleaning tool. Allow it to dry fully before putting it back into use.

You could spot clean it with resolve which works well, however, since it was used, i would steam clean it. You can rent a small steam cleaner. The steam should take the stains out, if not you will have to treat it first (resolve) then steam clean so that you know it is sanitary
